When there are just way too many things to process, we easily drift into the “unable to do anything properly” mode. We want to be relieved from all this once and for all. But if you actually do that, if you actually cut everything off at once, what you’ll be left with is not relief, it’s a what-if. There’s a high possibility you’ll miss one or more critical element. A more viable way of operating under these type of circumstances is trying to create some space for yourself to think things through, whatever that might be. But it’s not to be mistaken for activities designed for numbing whatever you’re feeling or escaping reality. It is always tempting, however, it hardly proves to be helpful.
