Self-sufficiency is a mirage. We see people who are doing very well for themselves and like to hope that we’ll get there eventually, that’s the goal. But it’s by no means fully attainable. And that includes everyone.

Let’s say something is troubling you. Can you overcome that? Well, it depends. If that something is relatively complex, it would be challenging. Perhaps you will overcome it with some thinking and making certain moves. What about a more complex issue, the kind you seemingly cannot overcome? You will survive it with some or a lot of setbacks, and that’s not what you want.

Even if you are intellectually aware of the patterns, you will do a lot better with somebody’s council. And since it’s not possible to do everything by yourself, the goal should be to surround ourselves with people who want to prosper with.
