One cannot start off by caring for all of humanity. Usually it’s for the “selfish” reasons we begin our journey towards intended paradise. And that’s more than okay, in fact, that’s the way it should be.

Because ultimately, you are more than what you think of yourself to be. In addition to the future you, there are also people around you, who, in essence, depend on you to some degree. Others do benefit from you feeling and doing good.

And things are not worse when you want good for yourself. Instead, sometimes us not wanting good for ourselves is the problem, because sometimes we don’t care about ourselves as we do about our pets or close ones.
