In the perfect world, we’d be excited about everything we do all the time. But last time I checked, the world we live in is far from perfect. You don’t get to be excited all the time. You might experience it, but it would be seasonal at best. It’s not easy to put a finger on where that excitement came from, but it’s likely a mixture of effort and God’s blessing. Whatever it is, you appreciate the fuck out of everything.

Other times, the sunshine just won’t show up. You’ll pour your blood, sweat and tears into something. You’ll keep grinding and grinding. But mud would be the only thing that’s in front of you. Every. Single. Time. After some time, you’ll come to decide that chasing excitement directly is not doing it. You’re better off putting your focus on something else. And that something else needs to go deeper.
